During the dinner, Ambassador ‘Uta‘atu formally welcomed the delegation to Beijing and conveyed his best wishes for their participation in the Fourth Seminar for Parliamentarians from Pacific Island Countries, being held from 21 to 24 July 2026.

The seminar aims to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, promote exchanges on governance and legislative practices, and deepen engagement between Pacific Island legislatures and the National People’s Congress of China.

The dinner also provided an opportunity to reaffirm Tonga’s commitment to regional dialogue and parliamentary cooperation, while supporting the delegation as it prepared for the week’s official engagements.
